Henry Murray

Henry, a Fijian  native and raised on his family  island , has spent his whole life fishing. In 2002 his cousin Aubrey Woods and his close friend Bruce Roberts, both fly fishing  fanatics in Canada,  encouraged Henry to start a saltwater fly fishing business from his home on Tavewa Island.

Marrying his Canadian wife Rhonda , (who also loves to fly fish), the couple with their son Benjamin,  still spend several  months a year on Tavewa.  They love to share their space and knowledge of the sea, salt water fishing and all the other adventures the South Pacific offers, ie. snorkelling, diving ,surfing and kayaking.

Your Fly Fishing Experience

The Northern Yasawas, famous for their white sandy beaches  translates in Flyfishing terms to” large expanse  of sand flats   where predator fish come to feed at low and incoming  tide…
Your charter includes a guide, boat, and gear, although you are always encouraged to test out your own equipment if you are keen.  If you wish, we are also happy to provide saltwater fly fishing instruction.

Your full day of fishing is a minimum of six hours, depending on tides and weather.  Trolling is an option, as well as surf and popper casting.

You will be fishing on sand flats for Trevally (Giant, Blue Fin, Black Fin and Amber Fin). Trevally are the fish of choice, as they put up an incredible fight and can be in excess of 50 lbs! Barracuda, Mackerel, Queen Fish, Coral Trout and Sea Bass are a few more challenging salt water catches.

We also chase large schools of fish in the Deep Blue which might get you a Skip Jack or Yellow Fin Tuna!
